With a team of professionals from more than 70 countries and from its offices in Lisbon, Braga and remotely, it supports digital transformation in areas such as remote service management, analytics and data science, applications devel- opment, cybersecurity and network manage- ment among others, ensuring compliance with service levels agreed with dozens of multina- tionals in more than 150 countries. Fujitsu's projects in Portugal illustrate how the company has contributed to the digitisation and modernisation of various sectors. In pub- lic administration, Fujitsu ensures the demate- rialisation and automation of processes in 90 per cent of the state ministries, with the dig- itisation of more than 500 million documents per year. In the retail sector, its systems sup- port more than 3 million transactions per day in over 2,300 stores. In the transport sector, smart ticketing systems issue more than 25 million tickets per year. In industry and the en- ergy sector, it supports more than 18,000 us- ers and 10,000 devices. The Portuguese operation has also developed innovative solutions for vertical markets such as banking and retail, strengthening its role in the global context of Fujitsu, which is present in 180 countries. “The ability to understand our customers’ business and develop solutions for them locally has contributed to Fujitsu's contin- ued commitment and investment in our coun- try”, says Alexandre Ferreira. Social responsibility and sustainability are in- tegrated into Fujitsu's strategy. The Respon- sible Business programme, aligned with the principles of the ‘Fujitsu Way’, is based on ‘Purpose, Values and a Code of Conduct’. The company seeks to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion among its employees, promoting a culture in which each person can develop their full potential. At the environmental level, it has set a goal of achieving carbon neutral- ity in its business by 2030 and net zero emis- sions across its entire value chain by 2040. Its commitment to sustainability is also re- flected in projects with customers, such as the use of Social Digital Twins in the man- agement of shared mobility systems, which optimises routes, distributes electric mobility equipment and encourages more sustainable transport options.
